Ministry of Health (MOHME): listed for Turkey as entry 644 on the ministry's approved-university list for 2023-2024 intakes. That list is revised every year and requires the entire degree to be taken at an approved institution, so applicants must check the edition for their own year of entry; no newer edition was obtainable when this page was verified. Ministry of Science (MSRT): Acıbadem appeared in the Organization for Students' Affairs list for Turkey 2024 in Group C (valid to December 2025) and does not appear in the Turkey 2026 edition. We show no MSRT status because absence from a list is not a published decision — confirm your case with the ministry before you apply.

Acıbadem publishes a full Bologna information package with per-course ECTS values and National Qualifications Framework outcome matrices; the six-year medical degree totals 360 ECTS. Whether a Diploma Supplement is issued is not stated on the university's graduation and diploma page, so nothing is claimed here.

SAT · TR-YÖS

For the School of Medicine the published minimums are a national high-school diploma at 90/100, SAT I 1400 with at least 700 in Math, ACT 30/36, IB 35/45, TR-YÖS 450, or three A-Levels at grade A in relevant subjects. There is no Iran-specific row in the accepted-qualifications table: Iranian applicants fall under the national high-school diploma route.

Years 1–3

Phase I integrates basic and clinical sciences. It includes Clinical Medicine and Professional Skills, practical work at family and community health centres, and six terms in the CASE simulation centre — so patient-facing skills start well before the clerkships.

Years 4–5

Phase II is clinical clerkships. The published year-4 and year-5 course plans cover internal medicine, paediatrics and paediatric surgery, obstetrics and gynaecology and the other core rotations, with theoretical and practical examinations at the end of each clerkship period.

Practical training takes place at the Maslak and Atakent training and research hospitals and in education research regions whose YÖK affiliation is complete. The university does not publish a total number of years spent in hospital, so none is stated here.

From year 6

Phase III is the internship year: students take part in medical practice under the supervision of clinical educators, in the university's hospitals and in primary care settings.

Holds an Erasmus Charter for Higher Education for 2021–2027 (Erasmus code TR ISTANBU27) and runs student and staff mobility.

Istanbul is Turkey's largest city, a layered metropolis spread across two continents, and for many students the ferry crossing between Europe and Asia is part of the daily commute. It holds the country's largest concentration of universities, so student life turns up everywhere, from library cafes to cheap lunch spots in almost every district. Public transit is extensive — metro, tram, Marmaray rail under the Bosphorus, and city ferries all work with a single Istanbulkart — though rush-hour traffic tests everyone's patience. It is also Turkey's most expensive city, with rent taking the biggest share of a student budget, which is why shared flats and dormitories are common. Winters are mild and rainy, summers warm and humid.
