Kadir Has University is a private university in Istanbul, and its defining characteristic shows up in the program list rather than in any slogan: of its 20 published programs, all 20 are taught in English. There is not a single Turkish-taught entry on the list.

That is unusual in Turkey. Many private universities in Istanbul carry a large catalogue that is mostly Turkish with a small English wing; here it is the other way round — the catalogue is small, but all of it is in English. For an Iranian student who does not want to spend a year in a Turkish preparatory program, that difference is a year of their academic life.

The published list covers two levels, bachelor's and master's, and engineering appears in it with four entries. Annual tuition runs from $6,000 to $7,500. That narrow band tells you something about the shape of the catalogue: a list with no associate diplomas and no health-science degrees does not produce the price jump you see at most Turkish private universities.

The main advantage is the predictability of your plan. When every one of the 20 programs is English-taught, your choice of subject cannot push you into a Turkish preparatory year, so the length of your degree is known from the outset. The narrow tuition band does the same for your budget: the gap between the cheapest and the most expensive program on this list is small, so changing your mind about the subject does not rewrite your costs — something that is not true at a university with a wide catalogue.

On the other side of the ledger, 20 programs is a short list. If your exact subject is not on it, there is little to fall back on inside the same institution and we should be looking at another university. And if your goal is medicine, dentistry or pharmacy, this list has no such entry at all. We establish that before a file is started, not after.

Bachelor's admission here, as at other Turkish private universities, is assessed on your high-school record, and Iran's national entrance exam plays no part in it. But because all 20 programs are English-taught, proof of English applies to every applicant rather than to a subset: either a recognised language certificate or a pass in the university's own language exam.

For master's admission, the main criterion is your bachelor's degree and its transcripts, and some programs also ask for a statement of purpose and references. We confirm the acceptable language score and the list of recognised exams with the university for your intended intake.

A standard file holds your high-school transcripts and diploma with official translations, a copy of a valid passport, a passport photo and an English language certificate. For master's applications, your bachelor's degree and transcripts are added, along with a statement of purpose and CV for some programs.

One detail matters more here than elsewhere: the validity date on your language certificate. Because every program on this list is taught in English, an expired certificate can stall the file outright. Checking that before submission is part of the same free service.
